Approve Pear Deck Tutor as a Third-Party App

In Google Workspace, your administrator can add Pear Deck Tutor as a trusted third-party app to allow students to sign in. Workspace policy requires that Pear Deck Tutor is trusted for accounts whose users are under 18 years old.

Please note that users under 18 years old won't be able to sign into Pear Deck Tutor if the app isn't trusted.

Pear Deck Tutor may be listed as a third-party app awaiting approval in Workspace.

Here are the steps to approve Pear Deck Tutor as a Third-Party App:

  1. Visit admin.google.com.

  2. Sign in with an administrator’s account.

  3. In the sidebar, click Security > Access and data control > API Controls.

  4. Click Manage Third-Party Access.

  5. Under Configured apps, click Add App > OAuth App Name or Client ID.

    Click on "OAuth App Name or "Client ID" to manually add Pear Assessment's Client ID.
  6. Paste the following string under the Search for OAuth app name or client ID field:
    747841862649-ql6u9blkqjc227u29nnpdsmcs7df3h0m.apps.googleusercontent.com

  7. Click Search.

  8. Hover on Pear Deck Tutor and click Select.

  9. Select your ID under OAuth Client ID and click Select.

  10. For Scope, select your root organizational unit (OU) or a specific OU that hosts student accounts. We recommend the root OU.

  11. Click Next.

  12. Select Trusted.

  13. Select Allowlist for exemption from API access blocks in context-aware access. Available only for apps added via OAuth client IDs.

  14. Click Next.

  15. Confirm your setup and click Change Access.

  16. Repeat steps 5-15 for the Pear Deck Learning client ID: 379962065044-digedvvia3khonh0n16u1n3teq8ue9q2.apps.googleusercontent.com

  17. Verify your students can sign in to Pear Deck Tutor.
