Information on using the dashboard as a school admin

Updated over a week ago

Introduction

The Pear Deck Tutor Admin Dashboard gives you total transparency on utilization data for live tutoring sessions and Writing Labs. That includes data on student usage, which subjects students are requesting most often, details about session length, full session recordings, and more. All completed live tutoring sessions and Writing Labs are archived and available for your review.

Logging into the Pear Deck Tutor Admin Dashboard

The way you log into the Admin Dashboard is different from the path your students will follow and is totally separate from https://tutor.peardeck.com/. To log in for the first time, navigate to https://dashboard.tutor.peardeck.com/ and use the credentials provided to you by the Pear Deck Tutor team.

The first time you log into the Admin Dashboard, you’ll be guided through an in-app tutorial that walks you through the most important features and functionality. If you’d like to revisit this in-app tutorial at any time, you can do so by navigating to Settings → Dashboard Tutorial.

Dashboard

From your Dashboard, you have access to the following basic stats:

  • Students enrolled: The number of students who’ve logged into Pear Deck Tutor at least one time.

  • Hours remaining: If you’re currently an hourly Pear Deck Tutor partner, this is where you’ll see the number of tutoring hours still available to your students. If you’re an equity partner, you’ll see the expiration date of your current contract.

  • Total sessions completed: How many Pear Deck Tutor sessions – including both live sessions and Writing Lab submissions – the students at your institution have completed.

Everything in your Dashboard view can be filtered based on date ranges, subjects, and other criteria:

  • In the General Usage section, you can review global metrics related to all tutoring sessions completed by learners in your organization. The information in this section of the Dashboard includes data from live tutoring sessions and Writing Labs. You can view reports under Frequency or Cumulative.

  • In the Live Tutoring section, you’ll see data pertaining only to live tutoring sessions completed on Pear Deck Tutor.

  • In the Writing Lab section, you’ll see data pertaining only to Writing Lab submissions.

Live Tutoring

In the Live Tutoring tab of your Dashboard, you can dig into the more granular details of the live Pear Deck Tutor sessions your students have completed. Using the options along the top of your screen, you can customize your view based on relative or absolute timeframes.

Session information is displayed here in chronological order, showing the most recent live sessions first.

Click on the student’s name to see a summary of that learner’s full activity history on the Pear Deck Tutor platform, including live sessions completed and papers submitted through the Writing Lab.

Live Tutoring Subjects

Admins now have access to a new subject report in the live tutoring section. This report shows the demand and usage of tutoring in specific subjects, including the number of unique sessions, tutoring minutes, and the percentage of total tutoring time spent on that subject.

K-12 accounts can also filter this table by grade. want more details, they can click on the view all sessions link or any link within the table to be redirected to the live tutoring page with the time frame and subject filter applied.

Writing Lab

In the Writing Lab tab of your Dashboard, you can review the full details of all written assignments your students have submitted to the Pear Deck Tutor Writing Lab for asynchronous review and feedback. Using the options along the top of your screen, you can customize your view based on relative or absolute timeframes.

Writing Lab submissions are displayed here in chronological order, showing the most recent submission first.

If you click on any of the Paper Review IDs displayed, you’ll be given two options:

  • See paper details: Here, you can see the details the student provided in their Writing Lab request, and you can download their original paper.

  • Read tutor’s feedback: When you click into this option, you’ll first see the global feedback the tutor provided on the student’s submission overall. Clicking the Download Reviewed Paper button will download a .docx version of the reviewed paper, including the tutor’s review comments.

Click on the student’s name to see a summary of that learner’s full activity history on the Pear Deck Tutor platform, including live sessions completed and papers submitted through the Writing Lab.
